Bridging the mountains between Clearfield and Centre Counties, the Philipsburg-Osceola area covers 150 heavily forested square miles. Consequently, the majority of the nearly 6,900 residents live in or around the Borough of Philipsburg. Victorian homes abound in historic downtown Philipsburg, but new homes can also be found on private wooded lots.

Location
The Borough of Philipsburg and Rush Township form the Philipsburg-Osceola area. Residents can quickly access State College via a new loop of Route 322 connecting to Interstate 99. Interstate 80 can also be accessed at the very tip of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area. Local students attend schools in the Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District, or local private and charter schools.
Events and Culture
Approximately half of the area is dedicated to the Moshannon State Forest, State Game Lands, and Black Moshannon State Park. The Cold Stream Dam Park is located just southeast of Philipsburg, providing recreation for all ages. Local festivals include Heritage Days and the autumn Harvest Fest.
