Local students attend schools in the State College Area School District, or local private or charter schools.

State College
The Pennsylvania State University is the heart of State College, drawing families, professionals, students and sports fans alike to the region. Cheer at a Penn State football game in Beaver Stadium, enjoy a concert at the Bryce Jordan Center, or savor a scoop of your favorite ice cream at Penn State's Berkey Creamery.
State College's cultural attractions also continue outside the university. Each July, Arts Fest attracts thousands of visitors to its vibrant local arts and music scene.
Boalsburg
Historic Boalsburg is a small village just five minutes from State College. Duffy's Tavern was a stage coach stop and is still the local restaurant and pub where “everyone knows your name.” The birthplace of Memorial Day, Boalsburg houses the Pennsylvania Military Museum. The annual People's Choice Arts Festival and Victorian Main Street create a charming cultural atmosphere. Theatre enthusiasts can also catch local productions at the Boal Barn Playhouse.
Pine Grove Mills
The small village of Pine Grove Mills lies southwest of State College on State Road 45. Home to a little over 1,000 people, this small town is a short drive from Whipple Dam State Park and Shaver's Creek, or you can head north and be on the Penn State campus in just 10 minutes.
Lemont
The village of Lemont is just north of State College off State Route 26. The Mount Nittany Conservancy—a group dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of Mount Nittany—is headquartered in Lemont. The village is also home to the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania, a nonprofit organization that supports the visual arts in Centre County.
Houserville
Houserville is part of the State College Area School District, located just a few minutes from the Penn State campus. Residents can enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the scenic Spring Creek Park or admire the new home developments.
